School officials confirmed the loss in a statement that described Kevanii as a cherished member of the school community and an exceptional role model. According to the school, Kevanii was known for his loyalty, kindness, and unwavering support for those around him.
He was a diligent and conscientious student who led by example, earning the respect of both peers and younger students. His enthusiasm for school life was evident in his involvement across a wide range of activities, from participating in fundraisers to assisting Year 6 students during their transition to high school.
Kevanii also played an active role in preparations for the Year 12 formal and regularly volunteered at school carnivals, always willing to lend a hand. He had a strong interest and natural aptitude in hospitality and worked locally at Tenterfield Golf Club, where he was regarded as hardworking, polite, and dependable.
His positive attitude, exemplary behaviour, and commitment to school life were recognized through numerous awards. A passionate basketball player, Kevanii was rarely seen without a ball in hand.
Friends recall that he could often be found playing enthusiastically during recess and lunch breaks, sharing his love of the game and encouraging others to join in. His energy, warmth, and generosity of spirit made a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
